Old Town After Dark: Scottsdale's Nightlife Scene
Unpacked

· 5 min read · By the Elite Retreat Team

Old Town Scottsdale has earned its reputation as one of the most vibrant nightlife destinations in the Southwest. When the sun drops behind the McDowell Mountains and the desert air cools, the city transforms — and your group will be right in the middle of it.

Whether you’re looking for craft cocktails in a speakeasy, live music on a rooftop, or a full-on club night, Old Town delivers. Here’s your group’s guide to the after-dark scene.

Rooftop Bars & Scenic Cocktails

The Saguaro Hotel Rooftop Pool Bar

Rooftop · Old Town · Open to Hotel Guests & Visitors
The Saguaro's colorful pool deck and rooftop bar is one of Old Town's most photographed spots — and for good reason. The colorful retro-modern aesthetic, strong cocktails, and poolside energy make this a perfect pre-dinner stop or late-night destination. Arrive early on weekends to secure a good spot.

Riot House at Hotel Adeline

Rooftop Restaurant & Bar · Old Town
Riot House sits on top of Hotel Adeline and offers some of the best views in Old Town alongside a thoughtfully curated cocktail menu and small-plate menu. The vibe is chic without being stuffy — equally good for a celebratory group dinner or cocktail hour. Book a table on the terrace for the full effect at sunset.

Craft Cocktails & Intimate Bars

Kazimierz World Wine Bar

Wine Bar · Hidden Gem · Old Town
Tucked behind a nondescript door in Old Town, Kazimierz is Scottsdale's best-kept secret. Once you find it (look for the wine bottle above the door), you're rewarded with a cozy, dimly-lit wine bar with thousands of bottles and a team of sommeliers who genuinely love what they do. Perfect for wine-loving groups who want to escape the scene.

Citizen Public House

Craft Cocktail Bar · Old Town
One of Old Town's most celebrated cocktail bars, with a program built around seasonal ingredients, house-made ingredients, and serious bartending craft. The food menu is equally impressive — the original chopped salad has a cult following. A great spot for groups who appreciate quality over quantity.

🚗 Concierge Tip

Old Town is 6.9 miles from Elite Retreat — a 12-minute drive. We strongly recommend arranging group transportation for any night out rather than individual rideshare pickups. Our concierge team can coordinate a private van or party bus for the night, keeping the group together and the evening seamless from start to finish.

Live Music & High-Energy Venues

Handlebar J

Live Country Music · Old Town · Iconic
A Scottsdale institution since 1968. Handlebar J is where you come for live country music, cold beer, and the kind of unpretentious good time that's increasingly rare in a city full of trendy rooftops. The dance floor fills up early and stays packed. An absolute must-visit for any group that wants the authentic Scottsdale experience.

Bottled Blonde

Bar & Dance Club · Old Town
One of Old Town's biggest and most energetic nightlife venues. Bottled Blonde blends a sports bar atmosphere early in the evening with a full-on club scene as the night progresses. Multiple indoor and outdoor areas make it easy for large groups to spread out while staying connected. The DJ programming is consistently excellent.

Maya Scottsdale

Nightclub · Old Town · Late Night
Scottsdale's premier nightclub experience, with national and international DJs headlining on weekends. Maya draws a mix of locals and visitors who want a genuine nightclub atmosphere — bottle service, production lighting, serious sound system. Best experienced with a reservation and table service for large groups.

Old Town Scottsdale is compact enough that a great night can move organically from bar to bar — but planning ahead (especially for table reservations) goes a long way toward making the evening effortless. And when the night is over, Elite Retreat’s fire pit and wine bar are always the perfect final chapter.
